So, yes, that last post will be part of a limited series. This time around: goals. Some of these are really far-fetched, and should not be construed as the only things I’d like to accomplish in the coming year, just the things I don’t mind the interwebs knowing.
First, foremost, but not easiest, is earning employment. And not just for the paycheck. Yes, incoming money would be a nice, eventually very necessary, thing, but being involved in the area as an employee will be nice.
Hacking some sort of inexpensive furniture into a concealed litter box, and with the thought that it could be a semi-functional footstool, too.
Modifying my desk a bit to make it better computer workstation.
Keep a record of each book I read or reread during the year, either here or at goodreads
Make at least one great image per month.
A small mess of computer related upgrades: 24″ monitor/tv hybrid, TV Tuner card/USB solution gizmo, some NAS storage in a mirrored RAID array, replace my main OS drive on the Win7 computer with a SSD
Some camera related gear purchases: a 7D, a couple prime lenses, a lensbaby
A comfortable reading chair
Organize books, music, and movies and perform a cull of the ones I no longer need. Also think harder about getting rid of old game systems (sniff, the end of Super Smash Brothers?)
Have enough shelf space for media library growth.
Organize old papers and toss the ones I don’t need.
Ditto clothes.
Get back into a shape that’s less rounded. 25 or 30 pounds gone should do quite nicely. Along with that, run or bike a semi-significant amount a couple times a week.
