Green Tee Readings

As a bit of an addendum to a previous post, I’d like to add $7 concerts as a good way to find new bands. I went to Schuba’s on Tuesday night on the recommendation of Arms, Distance and I very much enjoyed both of the bands I went to see, Five Foot Nine and The Handcuffs (both of those are myspace links).

I’ve already picked up The Handcuffs lastest album, Electroluv, will probably pick up the other one of theirs that’s on eMusic soon. “Gotta’ Problem With Me?” is supremely catchy as a live introduction to the band, with limited lyrics letting new listeners sing along and with solid punk/power pop style songwriting. I’ll pick up Five Foot Nine’s album sometime soon, too.

In place of a proper review, I’ll just say that both bands were excellent, and that I encourage everyone to give them a try. Also, I took a large number of pictures and I’m slowly getting them put up on Flickr. The set is available here.
